HOTEL SAN CARLOS

We arrived at the Hotel San Carlos for the ghost tour that is offered to the public. We had booked a room there, so we checked in, got our room key, and went to the room. When you open the door to the room, you see a pretty standard looking room. There is an old radiator in the corner which is something you dont see too much of in Phoenix, but everything else is normal. The bathroom definitely has an older feel to it. There is the original faucet still above the sink from the earlier times when the hotel was first opened. When we first went into the room, there were no creepy feelings or anything to suggest that there may be spirits residing there. We left most of our equipment in the room and left two digital recorders and an infrared camera running. We left the room, and went to check in to the tour.
Upon arriving for the tour, we paid, and then got seated to wait for the tour to begin. The tour was split into several smaller groups, and we went on our way. We were able to go into areas that the general public is not able to access like the basement, and other areas. The basement is said to have children and is also believed to hold a vortex that spirits can pass through in the well that is located there. The well has been in that same location since even before the hotel was opened. The Native Americans used the well in rituals, and after that it was the well that was used for a school house. This is when four children were said to have drowned and is causing the alleged haunting in the basement. While we could not take all of our major equipment on this tour, we were able to bring along a camera and captured a few orbs, and even a mist in several pictures. The tour was interesting if nothing else because you could learn some history about the hotel.
We werent able to capture too much on the tour without all of the equipment we normally use, but we did learn about a few other deaths at the hotel. The most fascinating one was of Leone Jensen, an aspiring actress that took her own life by jumping from the 7th floor of the hotel. She was only thirty three years old at the time, and there are several stories as to the reason why she did this. The most retold story is that she was broken hearted from a love (who was a bellhop at another hotel) leaving her. We were intrigued and wanted to know more.
After finishing the tour, we went back to the room and checked the EMF levels in the room for any higher than normal EMF spikes. There was nothing out of the ordinary at that time, and we didnt end up registering any unusual EMF levels throughout the time we were there. We used the spirit box inside the room of the hotel (which is consequently next to where Leone was rumored to have stayed), but received no responses through this device. We conducted various EVP sessions inside the room, throughout the hotel, and outside in the pool area. We received some of the best Class A EVPs weve ever captured there (They are listed in the player to the right and the EVP section of the website). We even received an intelligent response from a spirit we believe to be Leone, the woman who jumped from the hotel.
There are definitely paranormal occurrences there, both intelligent, and residual. While you can dismiss the pictures with orbs in them as dust, there is no way to dismiss the number of intelligent responses we received, including one calling out one of the REAPER Team members by name in a full sentence to her. In the opinion of REAPER Team, the Hotel San Carlos is definitely haunted.
